ABOUT G.A.S.R.O.E.

In 2019, the Habersham County Sheriff's Office initiated a dialog with the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC), the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council (GA P.O.S.T.), the Georgia Department of Education (GDOE), and the Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) to form an alliance. The alliance would incorporate and merge all of the separate efforts being made to improve school safety into one collective body known as the Georgia Alliance of School Resource Officers and Educators or GASROE.

GASROE  is the first to incorporate Educators in the mix. We feel that through the collaboration of School Resource Officers and Educators, we can build strong relationships that will benefit youth in school throughout the State of Georgia.

GASROE's mission is to provide training throughout the year and throughout the State, in addition to an Annual Conference Event. Through the combined efforts with the Georgia Public Safety Training Center and the Governor's Office of Highway Safety, GASROE will be able to provide basic, intermediate and advanced training programs for School Resource Officers, Educators, School Safety Coordinators/Directors, Nurses and other support personnel. Additionally, GASROE will provide instruction and training that addresses current issues and new trends and provide participants with the latest tools available to address them.

Members of GASROE will have exclusive access to Online and In-Person basic, intermediate and advanced training programs. Additionally, members will have discounted conference fees, access to a Members-only email group to network, and the ability to host a GASROE specialized training event.
